COVID-19 Information and Additional Requirements

In order to continue providing camping activities we require your cooperation in following current social distancing requirements. Failure to comply reflects poorly on the program and does not support the continued successful control of the outbreak. A resurgence of the outbreak or disregard for the additional restrictions below will lead to the camping program being suspended again. Don't just do it for your ʻohana, do it for the others who plan to enjoy camping in the coming months.

The following additional requirements and limitations are in effect:
  • Any groups of more than four people must provide their own portable toilet. For groups of 4 or less who do not choose to provide their own portable toilet, you must bring your own antibacterial wipes and wipe down the shared portable toilet's door after each use.
  • Campsites are limited to 10 individuals including children.
  • Every group must bring their own hand soap to use at the shared sink and should frequently wash hands while camping.
  • Keep your distance from other groups. Smile & shaka from afar.

DISCLAIMER

The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. As a result, federal, state, and local governments and federal and state health agencies recommend social distancing and have, in many locations, prohibited the congregation of groups of people. HILT has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19; however, HILT cannot guarantee that you or your child(ren) will not become infected with COVID-19. Further, attending HILT programming, camping, or volunteer days could increase your risk and your child(ren)’s risk of contracting COVID-19.
